Privacy Statement

In accordance with the Guidelines for Federal Government World Wide Websites issued by the Australian Privacy Commissioner, The Treasury provides the following privacy statement.

Personal Information Collected

Navigation/clickstream data is recorded for two purposes:

  • It is analysed to measure the usefulness, usability and performance of this website.
  • It is checked for signs of illegal activity. Logs of suspicious activity may be forwarded to the Defence Signals Directorate, in the Department of Defence, for further analysis.

No attempt will be made to identify users from their browsing activities except, in the unlikely event of an investigation, where a law enforcement agency may exercise its authority to inspect the server log files.

Navigation/Clickstream Data

Whenever you view or download information from this website, the following will be recorded by The Treasury or its service providers:

  • the Internet Protocol (IP) address of your computer;
  • the page accessed or document downloaded;
  • the date and time the information was accessed;
  • the type of browser you used; and
  • the status of the browse attempt, eg, successful, or '404 Page Not Found'.

Website Feedback *

A feedback form is provided by the Uniform Consumer Credit Code Management Committee to allow users to provide valuable input into the future development of the site and to comment on the provision of information by the Management Committee. The provision of personal details on the feedback form is optional. Users may provide personal details for the purpose of receiving a reply to their feedback. Access to and use of this information is restricted to the Management Committee and Committee Secretariat. The Treasury may publish aggregated information about feedback on the site, to the extent that it does not identify or cannot be used to identify individual users. Email addresses are not added to mailing lists.
